About KV Lucknow Cantt

Kendriya Vidyalaya Lucknow Cantt was established on 23 September 1988 under the chairmanship of Brig M S Barar. Vidyalaya was opened under the splendid guidance of the Assistant Commissioner (KVS-LR) Shri S. P. Pandey. Mrs K K Delela had the proud privilege of being the first Principal of the Vidyalaya.

Vidyalaya is run by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan , New Delhi, under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. Kendriya Vidyalaya primarily caters the children of Central Government Employees including Defence personnel, liable to frequent transfers throughout the country. Vidyalaya is a co-educational, secular affiliated to Central board of Secondary education, New Delhi.

  1. Important milestones of growth.
  2. In December 2004, Vidyalaya was shifted to its new building opposite to Dilkusha Garden which is about 06 KMs from Charbagh Railway Station.

  3. Gradual year wise expansion in classes and sections leading to present status
  • In year 2006 first batch of class XII appeared in the CBSE board examination.
  • In year 2008 one more section for class I was added leading to 3 sections in class I.
  • In year 2009 one more section for class II was added leading to 3 sections in class I and II.
  • With the grant of Administrative approval from the academic session 2010-2011 Vidyalaya was upgraded to 3 section school from class I to class IX.
  • In 2011 one more section for class X was added leading to 3 sections from I to X.
  • With the grant of Administrative approval from the academic session 2014-2015 one more section of commerce for class XI was added leading to 3 sections in I to XI.
  • Details of previous and new campus –
    • Kendriya Vidyalaya Lucknow Cantt was initially started at 13, Nehru Road, in Cantonment area of Lucknow in a temporary building.
    • In December 2004, Vidyalaya was shifted to its new building opposite to Dilkusha Garden.
